The City of Kazan

KAZAN is the capital and the largest city of Tatarstan Republic, Russia. It is a historical city, with a present population of 1,243,500 (for 2018), it is the sixth most populous city in Russia. Kazan is one of the largest economic, political, scientific, educational, cultural, and sports centers of Russia. Kazan is located at the confluence of the Volga and Kazanka rivers in the European part of Russia, approximately 715 kilometers east of Moscow. Kazan Kremlin is a World Heritage Site. In 2005 the millennium of Kazan was celebrated. In April 2009 the Russian Patent Office granted Kazan the right to be called "Third capital" of Russia.

The venue of SIBCON is Kazan Federal University, one of the oldest universities in Russia. It made an invaluable contribution to establish of the higher education system in Russia. Outstanding scientists and graduates have earned him worldwide fame, and university culture has had a beneficial impact on Kazan and the Volga region. More than 80 mem-bers of the Russian Academy of Sciences work in KFU for more than 200 years of history. Now as the federal a univer-sity, it solves the problem of integrating of science, education, and industry, contributing to economics based on knowledge and high technologies. VENUE
Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems (ITIS) is innovative IT faculty, founded in 2011 by joint efforts of Ministry of Informatization and Communica-tion of the Tatarstan Republic, KFU and representatives of the largest IT companies in the Region. ITIS trains highly qualified experts in the software engineering and robotics. Also it carried out the undergraduate IT education and pro-fessional retraining of industry employees.
